Who knew that vandalism could almost kill someone?

I have not posted in a while because my coworker (and friend) is in the hospital and has been since last Monday. It all started with a page late Sunday night. She tells me that she can't keep anything down, has a very high fever and a boil the size of her fist. The next thing I hear about this is an email from her husband saying that she was in critical care at the hospital. What???!!! Are you kidding me?? What the hell could have happened?? We finally get a hold of her husband to find out what went wrong and he tells us that the boil busted and so they took her to the hospital and there they found gangrene and they had an emergency surgery to remove it. We hear this and me, another supervisor and our manager go directly to see her in the hospital. She looks bad and it scared the hell out of me. She just turned 30 (like me) and goes to see her doctor regularly, I just didn't understand. Her brother tells us that they will have to do another surgery to find out if there is any gangrene left but he also says that it could cause ostomy (becuase of where it is) or even death. Which scared me even more. A few days later they did the other surgery and said that there was not much gangrene tissue left but they were still worried about any infections that it can cause (with the open wound) so she is staying for at least 4 months. What gets me is that I just found out today that a few weeks ago someone busted all of her windows out in her van (which I already knew about) and she sat on a piece of glass and didn't know that it was there and this is what caused this whole mess. Can you believe that??!! I am so freakin' mad because she could have DIED and there is still a possibility. It makes you realize that everyone should think about thier actions before going thru with anything. We think that a former employee could have done this and I just want to hunt her down and kick her ass!!! The funny thing is that my friend is doing well and still has her sense of humor (she is a very strong lady) and she told me that I have to save the ass kickin for her to do when she gets out!! I will grant her wish ;)
